Rushed

I am a busy individual who always takes on just enough to handle without going on over load. Therefor I am always rushing through anything trying to fit one more thing in my day. I find myself doing this with Circles already because I have been worried about the time commitment. I rush through my books barely reading the words until something really catches me off guard. Once I realize it, I have to go back and read everything over again. I do the same thing with the blogs, I start reading and after a few I realize that I need to be reading and commenting on things that touch me personally. I read them all over again to process what you are saying. I feel like I'm on cruise control. This needs to change in me.

I read all of your amazing stories on how God is so apparent in your lives and I haven't had that in a long time. I'm lacking and really struggling. I am praying this week that I can slow down and seek God and see Him.

I look forward to meeting everyone next week. I haven't been to a meeting yet because I had prior engagements for work.

  1. I look forward to seeing you next week as well!

I've started to barely read the "Here and Now" book and it's helping me to realize the importance of being able to focus on the now rather than looking ahead or looking back. Especially as a busy person, its so easy constantly have our focus on the next step, or look back and beat yourself up about all the things you've could've done.

Rather than allowing all the tasks that Circles suggest that we complete hang over our heads, make it a goal just to make everything you do count. Quite frankly, I haven't been able to read everyone's blog and it's been a bit difficult but I'll get there eventually.

  3. I like what Jenny said about making everything count. We aren't going to get to everything every week. There are some obligations, like work for instance, that we just can't move around...but there are others things that we CAN sacrifice in order to allow God to use Circles to have the greatest impact in our lives as possible. Looking forward to seeing you next week as well!! We're in this together =)

  5. Praying that you find some time, just once this week, even just a moment, where God is able to pause the world around you and tell you the things you most need to hear this week.

  7. You are not the only one who feels this way, trust me... I don't know how to relax or sit still for 2 seconds because I have such a full plate. And on the rare occassion that I have a
"day of rest" it becomes a day of deep cleaning, target runs, and uneccessary purchases. I can't ever sit and take a deep breath... it's something I am really trying to work on. Maybe this is the purpose of blogs... we have no choice but to sit and stay focused on the words God is speaking through others. When my plate isn't full I don't feel productive. But ultimatly we can't do any of these things without God on our side so we have to first be productive in our realtioship with Him and naturally everything else will fall into place. Now I need to practice what I preach. As you meet everyone too you will be more motivated to read the blogs as you put faces to the words. Can't wait to meet you also!

  8. Don't worry! Just breath :) Stop, pause for a minute. Seriously. Like right where you are right this moment. Time is valuable, don't let it go to fast. I fail in this too. Don't be discouraged!
Praying for you!! God has you in His hands.

  9. I'm really looking forward to meeting you on Saturday! Multi-tasking, auto-pilot and the "wearer of many hats" is like a super power ;-) It's a gift God gives, and it can be very handy indeed. But then, the ability to think of many things at once can sometimes make me feel like I'm not thinking about anything at all! There are always ways of distorting the gift and not using it for what God intended (like the super hero gone bad ;-) Thank you for writing this. I'm encouraged by your honesty and ability to be aware of how you are in certain situations. Those are gifts too! ;-)
